Roshni & Joseph’s Vibrant May Wedding

As a Leicester wedding photographer, I’m lucky to work at some incredible venues across the city — and Winstanley House is always a standout.

Roshni and Joseph’s wedding in May was the perfect example of why.

A vibrant, joy-filled celebration blending cultures, traditions, and personalities — all set within one of Leicester’s most elegant wedding venues. It was a day full of energy, emotion, and unforgettable moments from beginning to end.

A Wedding Day Full of Anticipation

For Joseph, there was one moment he’d been waiting for above all else:

“Seeing my bride for the first time, in her incredible bridal outfit…”

That moment never disappoints — and it set the tone for everything that followed.

For Roshni, her focus was on the bigger picture:

“Seeing all of my guests relaxed and enjoying themselves.”

That desire shaped the entire day — and it showed, especially as the celebrations unfolded.

A Celebration of Culture at Winstanley House

One of the most memorable parts of this Winstanley House wedding was how beautifully both families embraced the occasion.

Roshni spoke about how proud she felt seeing members of her non-Indian family arriving in traditional Indian outfits — fully embracing the spirit and style of the day.

It added such a personal, meaningful layer to the celebration and made the atmosphere feel even more inclusive and special.

The Surprise That Set the Tone

Just when guests thought the reception was about to begin as normal, Roshni’s cousins had other plans.

They surprised everyone with a full dance performance — bringing energy, laughter, and a brilliant start to the evening.

“They’ve got some moves!”

Moments like this are exactly why I love being a Leicester wedding photographer — you simply can’t plan for them, but they often become the highlights.

Real Moments, Real Nerves

No wedding day is complete without a few nerves — and Roshni and Joseph were no exception.

Joseph was honest about his speech:

“I didn’t really squash the nerves at all!”

And then came the clay pot tradition — with the added pressure of needing to break it first time (which he did!).

Roshni felt those natural nerves walking down the aisle:

“Having all eyes on me…”

But with her brother beside her and support from those around her, she was able to take it all in and enjoy the moment.

A Dancefloor Like No Other

If there’s one thing that defined this Winstanley House wedding reception, it was the atmosphere.

“Everyone brought their dancing shoes, and the atmosphere was fantastic.”

From the first dance right through to the end of the night, the energy never dropped. The mix of cultures, music, and personalities created a celebration that felt completely alive.

As a Winstanley House wedding photographer, these are the moments I’m always looking to capture — real energy, real connection, and people fully in the moment.

Advice for Future Couples

Roshni and Joseph shared some genuinely great advice for couples planning their own weddings:

“Take a moment… stop, look around, and just absorb it all.”

The day moves fast — faster than you expect.

Joseph added:

“Let the bride have what she wants.”

And Roshni balanced that perfectly:

“Enjoy the process… even though it can be stressful.”

The End of the Day

By the end of the night, the feelings were exactly what you’d expect after a day like this:

  • Relief
  • Joy
  • Excitement for the future

And when asked what they’re most looking forward to as a married couple?

“Life!”

Simple, honest, and perfect.

Being Their Leicester Wedding Photographer

It was a privilege to capture this wedding, and it meant a lot to hear their feedback:

“Professional, but made plenty of light-hearted comments and jokes.”
“He listened to all of our input…”

That balance — keeping things relaxed while delivering meaningful, natural photographs — is exactly what I aim for as a Leicester wedding photographer.
